The Ensemble

This is an invitation to join Jullian’s performance ensemble. Ideally, the ensemble will feature 8-12 improvisors with a minimum standard of experience, including Jullian’s former students. Directed by Jullian, the ensemble will rehearse regularly to first practice existing formats, and later to develop our own performance formats. While we may begin with existing performance opportunities, there will also be opportunities to produce our own shows in the future.

Mission

The motive behind the ensemble is to create a reliable and consistent performance group, to develop talent, and to build a repertoire of formats that can be filmed to use for festival submissions. Successful festival submissions will provide travel opportunities, which could either be paid for, or partially paid.

Guest Performers

While Jullian will perform regularly with the ensemble, experienced guest performers will also be invited to join our shows. This will help to ensure that not all ensemble members will be required to commit to every performance.

Commitment

What defines the ensemble is a basic level of commitment. This isn’t just a class, and it isn’t just a performance group. There needs to be active development, which means members need to regularly attend rehearsals, which will be two hours twice a month on a schedule that we will set with the members. Because performances are on an irregular schedule, it’s understood that not everyone will be able to attend each one.

Rehearsal Venue

We will be rehearsing at the NephroCan office, Suite 940-1040 West Georgia Street, Vancouver.

Cost

Membership is $25/rehearsal, or $50/month.

Message me directly to confirm whether you’d like to join the ensemble.
